Key Responsibilities:
- Complete daily schedule of assignments to pick up and transport waste oil from customers
- Complete local deliveries (Milk Runs)
- Load and offload products and waste oil as required
- Complete documentation accurately including manifests, log books and bills of lading
- Document dangerous goods in compliance with TDG regulations if necessary.
- Conduct sampling
- Work within the guidelines of Transport Canada Regulations
- Acquire and maintain adequate certification as required
- Coordinate maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment
- Follow Environment, Health and Safety policies, procedures, and all environmental protocols and requirements
- Actively participate in safety meetings, identify and report all incidents and participate in investigations as necessary
- Demonstrate an understanding of internal and external customer requirements and provide high quality service
- Perform other operational duties as assigned
Experience, Qualifications &
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least two (2) years directly related experience as a Driver/Operator
- Must possess Class 3 license with air brake endorsement and a clean driving record, Class 1 license would be considered an asset
- Ability to operate pumper truck for bulk waste oil collection
- Excellent customer service skills, with strong work ethic and positive attitude to represent the Company
- Knowledge of TDGA, Reg. 347/558, WMHIS, and DOT regulations
- Demonstrate physical ability to do the work which includes, but is not limited to, lengthy sitting, climbing and lifting
- Solid written communication skills in order to complete required paperwork
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Ability to exercise good judgment and think proactively
- Open to working various hours, including occasional weekends and extended hours to meet client needs
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
