Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Manager - Utilities has overall responsibility for the management, performance, and operation of the City’s water, wastewater and drainage systems and is responsible for developing and maintaining a long-range infrastructure asset management strategy for utilities.
Scope of responsibility will include but is not limited to directing and providing leadership to the Water and Liquid Waste Services department managers;
long-term utilities planning;
asset management planning;
program development andimplementation, and the administration of effective and sustainable service delivery.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Registered or immediately eligible for registration as a professional engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
- Seven (7) years of recent, progressive experience in a municipal water and/or wastewater environment.
- Seven (7) years of recent applied experience with municipal engineering projects, including the design and construction of municipal works and services.
- Five (5) years of managerial experience including three (3) years of direct supervisory experience.
- Project management experience and/or certification.
- Asset Management and general infrastructure planning experience.
