The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association exists to support and encourage foster families through education and advocacy, helping create healthy homes, positive environments, and brighter futures for children and youth in care across the province. We are currently seeking a fulltime Overnight Childcare Worker to support a Foster Home in** Christopher Lake, SK**
This diverse position performs many tasks that include, but are not limited to overnight support, meal preparation, and basic house keeping. The successful applicant will be flexible in order to successfully meet the changing demands in the workplace. The chosen applicant will also be confident, self-motivated and an individual who demonstrates reliability, professionalism, and who is courteous and attentive to detail. Additionally, you will be a team player that is willing to help out as needed. You will be open and accepting of change and be open to continuous learning opportunities.
**Hours of work:
40 Hours per week. Wednesday-Sunday 12:
00am-8:
00am**
**Shifts would start Wednesday morning at midnight**
**Responsibilities**
- Must be awake and alert throughout all working hours
- Review and understand the homes Fire Safety Plan;
ensure a safe working environment
- Complete room checks as required by SFFA, and Foster Parents/Caregivers
- Accurately document completion of room checks, tasks accomplished, and all other assigned responsibilities
- Tend to childcare needs as required (night feeds, bathroom, bad dreams, etc.)
- Sweep, and mop floors throughout the home
- Manage kitchen duties such as sanitizing countertops, cupboards, tables, and chairs, organizing within cupboards, pantry, and refrigerator
- Ensure that all kitchen appliances such as cooking ranges, dishwashers, and microwaves are cleaned and maintained
- Empty waste bins and garbage cans
Qualifications:
- Childcare Experience or education as an ECE or Youth Care Worker;
equivalent experience or a combination of both will be considered
- Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with children, supervisors, and partnering agencies and maintain strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
- Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Criminal records Check (Within 3 Months)
Salary ranges from $18.00 per hour;
Health Benefits may be available after 3 months of employment
