The Seasonal Parking Ambassadors “Take Care of Banff” by interacting with and assisting locals and visitors utilizing the Visitor Paid Parking and Resident Paid Parking programs. This position is also responsible for providing administrative assistance and conducting routine parking meter maintenance as needed.
During the busy Banff summer, you will spend the majority of your day providing assistance to locals and visitors in the use and implementation of the Visitor Paid Parking and Resident Paid Parking programs. From being outside on foot in our downtown core to working with clients at the front counter, you will be a first point of contact with people who require assistance with the system. You will also assist the Paid Parking Coordinator with routine parking meter maintenance such as changing receipt rolls and addressing error messages. As a highly visible ambassador for the Town of Banff, you are the face of the department’s commitment in “Fostering community respect, safety and the beauty of our town.” You will engage with people in many different situations and your solution-based problem solving skills will be on display as you provide assistance and direction to our clients in a busy environment.
Ideally you are currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program and have an interest in administrative duties and client centered service. You have the interest and physical ability to spend much of your day outside. Previous work or volunteer experience in a customer service-related field and familiarity with local government functions are very desirable qualities in this position. This position requires working evenings and weekends.
