- Ontario Secondary School Diploma
- One year recent experience living and/or working in the Mental Health System
- Previous experience in a team oriented environment
- Consumer of the Mental Health System
- Ability to function with groups of clients as well as individuals
- Basic client care techniques (e.G. hygiene, nutrition, safety) and other daily living techniques (household management, illness management, social/recreation/leisure activities)
- Knowledge of local community resources in order to facilitate client access to social, recreational, clinical and transportation services
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Valid Class G Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle with minimum $2,000,000.00 liability insurance to transport self and clients throughout Renfrew County
- Good knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation and relevant sections of legislations (i.E. Mental Health Act, Human Rights Code, Landlord and Tenant Act)
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check
- College Diploma or Degree in a related social services field is an asset
- Recent experience working in a counseling capacity or in a community mental health program setting or related field(s) is an asset
- WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) training is an asset
- Must have demonstrated ability to meet the attendance standards of the Hospital
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
