- What we are looking for:
As a member of the pharmacy team working collaboratively with the regulated Pharmacy Technicians and Clinical Pharmacists, you will provide safe and effective drug distribution services to Markham Stouffville Hospital, Reactivation Care Centre and Uxbridge Hospital.Under the direct supervision of pharmacy technician or pharmacist, the pharmacy assistant is responsible for the following:
Prepackaging medication Maintain packaging equipment as per required cleaning schedule Inventory management duties such as receiving orders and barcoding Transport medication from pharmacy to patient care areas as required.
- The expectation is to complete regulation requirements with Ontario College of Pharmacist during the contract term to become a licensed Pharmacy Technician.After successfully completing delegation from a regulated technician, the pharmacy assistant may perform the following duties under the direct supervision of a regulated technician:
Filling unit dose medication carts Preparing interim or first doses Compounding following a master formulation
- Pharmacy assistants may participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
