We are a centrally located, up-and-coming, fast-paced multidisciplinary medical complex.
**Responsibilities &
Daily Duties**
- Perform and record results for various lab tests done at the clinic such as urinalysis
- Enter data in the medical software program
- Collect blood samples from patients
- Practice infection control standards while working with patients and equipment at all times
- Keep phlebotomy cart and station well-organized at all times
- Collects and organizes documents as required
- Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests
- Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient
- Practice proper patient identification, labeling vials properly
**Qualifications &
Skills**
- Bilingual (English and French), additional language is an asset
- Diploma in Phlebotomy
- Knowledge of legal requirements about drawing blood, handling fluid samples, and use of relevant medical equipment and material
- Experience with effective puncture techniques
- Minimum of one (1) year Laboratory experience specific to phlebotomy techniques
- Excellent customer service skills and experience
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Professional, courteous, friendly disposition, and very patient demeanor
- Empathetic and caring disposition
- Multi-tasker and ability to work in an environment that can be demanding
- General office administrative skills (i.E., faxing, scanning, photocopying)
- Basic computer and typing skills
