Sustainable Blue is a land-based aquaculture facility located in Centre Burlington, Hants County. The company grows Atlantic salmon using a proprietary water treatment technology which emits zero waste back to the environment. - Currently able to live and work in Canada
- Safe attitude to work.
- Pipefitter trade certification
- Familiar with safe systems of work, risk assessments, lock out tag out, etc.
- Computer literate. You will be expected to use a PC on a regular basis and be reasonably comfortable with its use for getting your maintenance tasks, recording your work, checking drawings, etc.
- An enquiring mind. Ours is a technical site and while you are not expected to understand all equipment immediately you must be willing and capable of learning how everything works to a high level.
- Willingness to assist in various maintenance tasks. We are currently a small team and need to support each other to get the larger maintenance tasks done. Such tasks include cleaning heat exchangers, changing carbon in carbon filters or changing sand in sand filters.
- Flexible approach to working hours. While it is not normal for us to work a lot of overtime, we do on occasion need to go the extra mile in emergencies to protect the welfare of the fish.
- Willingness to provide out of hours support in rare emergency situations
- Experience in a maintenance environment.
- Experience with motor drives and their configuration.
- Experience with pumps, compressors, blowers, and other fluid handling equipment
- Experience with instrumentation (pH probes, redox probes, oxygen sensors) and its calibration.
- Familiarity with P&
ID schematics.
- Knowledge of compressed air systems.
**Working Hours**
The farm operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. A Maintenance Technician generally works from 08:
00 to 16:
30 for five days in a row, Monday to Friday.
**Remuneration**
$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 p.A. paid bi-weekly, less statutory deductions.
The company has a medical benefit plan in place where the company and the employee share plan costs on a 50/50 basis. New staff are required to serve a three-month probationary period before being eligible to join the plan.
15 days paid vacation plus statutory holidays.
**Salary**:
$60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
