**What We Do**:
We provide crucial medical services to various companies, protecting and supporting workers in remote industrial settings such as oil fields and pipelines.
**About the Role**:
As a Primary Care Paramedic, your day-to-day work will require courage and compassion as you face diverse and challenging situations that have a direct impact on people's lives. Starting in June, you will have steady work available at various sites with varying accommodations.
**Location**:
**At this time we are looking for PCP's for ongoing shifts of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.** Long-term projects **in AB and BC**, with rotations **starting in JUNE 2023**.
**Requirements**:
- Current (unrestricted) registration as a Paramedic with the applicable provincial licensing body
- Preference for dual registered in Alberta and BC or willing to get registered in BC.
- Valid class 4 driver's license
- Previous Paramedic experience
- Previous industrial experience (preferred)
**Personal Characteristics**:
- Highly skilled and well-known for bringing order to chaos, especially when patients are scared, in pain, or shock from an injury
- Possesses a caring yet take-control personality and the ability to approach emergency situations calmly and logically
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Functional knowledge of computer operations, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize situations and activities ranging from urgent patient care issues to routine office and clinic duties
- Reliable, dependable, and capable of working in a fast-paced team environment
- Able to travel via motor vehicle and air transport
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide a quick response to medical emergencies in an industrial setting
- Assess and attend to patient's injuries and determine a course of treatment
- Provide first-aid or support to injured workers
- Effectively communicate status and next steps of the injured worker to emergency services
- Clean and decontaminate vehicles (mobile treatment center) and/or clinic area and maintain areas in a state of operational/medical readiness
- Ensure all reporting and communication requirements are adhered to regarding incidents, injuries, and treatment
- Maintain confidential patient medical documentation and reports as per governing body requirements
At **DXP/IPS** we pay a **hourly rates (not daily rates)**, based on **Employment Standards**, this includes OT rates based on the weekly 8/44 rule. Paid Travel and Orientation, with accommodations are provided!
