**Major Activities of the Job**:
**Daily maintenance and technical support of the Building Automation/Management Systems (BMS). Review of system failures with identification of root cause and issue resolution. Communicate system alarms or abnormal system activity to Building Operators and Management.**
- Operation, maintenance and trouble shooting for BAS/BMS and FMS.
- Troubleshoot sequence of operations, system hardware and IO. Perform root cause analysis for system issues.
- Respond to system alarms and carry out necessary repairs and troubleshooting to resolve system alarm conditions. Coordinate with building operators, trades, engineering and contractors to resolve any system alarm issues.
- Assist operators and trades with troubleshooting and investigations.
- Update alarm tag notes in the system. Document information in the work order system.
- Inform the manager, quality and customer of any abnormal system conditions and steps taken or required to correct these conditions.
**Provide support for Process Control Systems (PCS) for production equipment and systems. Support in the troubleshooting of automation sequences. Work with equipment SMEs to identify software issues and propose software resolutions as applicable.**
- Technical support and troubleshooting for process control systems for equipment such as autoclaves, fermenters, waste neutralization systems etc. Troubleshoot sequence of operations, system hardware and IO.
- Work with other operators, trades and equipment SMEs to resolve issues.
- Keep the end user up to date on progress of troubleshooting of their equipment.
- Contact and/or work with equipment manufacturer or services providers to resolve issues.
**Review and change/update (and document through change control) the programming and sequence of operations for building management and process control systems. Provide training to operators as required.**
- Review programming and sequence of operations for building management and process control systems.

- Enable/disable alarms, alarm descriptions, tag notes and comments as required. Document all changes.
- Provide training to operators on automation systems and sequence of operations.
**Carry out or follow-up preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.**
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks and daily, weekly checks on the equipment using the work order system.
- Identify and request parts when required to perform the maintenance tasks.
**Determine impact of required work, communicate and coordinate major repairs with operators, trade staff, contractors and user to minimize system interruption. Coordinate the required scheduled or un-scheduled shutdowns (facility and equipment) and related work.**
- Coordinate major repairs/shutdown work with planning, customer, trades and contractors to minimize service interruption.
- Review major planned shutdown work orders with planner using SAP system.
- Coordinate with stores to ensure all necessary parts are available.
- Arrange external contracts for shutdown work in coordination with planner and building managers.
**Any other duties and responsibilities assigned.**

**Minimum Qualifications**:
- Preferred four (4) year College Degree (Electrical or Control Technology), plus a minimum of two (2) years of previous relevant work experience.
