**Purpose and Scope**
The Production Scheduler analyzes and produces production and shipping schedules based on sales orders to ensure on time production and quality are maintained.
An excellent production planner is well-versed in production procedures and methods to optimize them. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Advanced communication and computer skills are very useful for this role.
**Organization Relationship**
The Production Scheduler works under close supervision with the Planning &
Production Control Manager.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. From time to time there will be requirements to go to the Production floor. The Production Scheduler position requires working for extended periods of time on the computer. Prolonged periods of concentration and attention to detail.
**Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with multiple production supervisor to communicate optimize schedules and update schedule on production feedback.
- Coordinate production workflow for multiple production lines.
- Analyze data, review outputs, capabilities and capacities to develop multiple week’s production schedule for two manufacturing units.
- Administer changes based on moving requirements to meet forecast and sales demand and update the production schedule.
- Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
- Provide weekly schedule and work orders to production in timely manner.
- Release, modify and reschedule work orders as per requirement.
- Monitor and generate documents for intra company material transfer to ensure smooth production.
- Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
- Recommend assignment of production staff to Director of Operations.
- Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget.
- Manage stock levels of sub-assembly components to ensure on-time production.
- Manage stock levels of finished goods to ensure on-time shipment to customer.
- Prepare and submit work centers KPI reports.
- Keep production schedule up to date and paper work organized.
- Work with other departments to solve issues related to material requirements and inventory,
- Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff
- Proactive approach to solving fulfillment challenges (schedule discrepancies, analyzing capacity and load balancing).
Skills and competencies:
- Ability to build and support strong internal relationships with cross functional department,
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,
- Clear understanding of fabrication and manufacturing process
- Strong PC skills are required (MS Office and ERP system),
- Good analytical, attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills,
- Must be able to work as a team player and maintain a positive attitude,
- Proven experience as production planner,
- Minimum years’ experience as a Production Planner role:
5 years.
- Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
- Experience in MRP (Manufacturing resource planning)
- Good at math and statistics
- College Diploma or University Degree;
Further education or certification in Production Planning is preferred
