**What you’ll be doing**:
The Quality Assurance Consultant (QAC) functions as a consultant, guide, coach, liaison, facilitator and researcher for the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) registrant quality assurance (QA) program. The QAC plans, develops, delivers, and evaluates quality assurance activities, policy, and requirements, and supports registrants, BCCNM staff, board, and external partners to understand and complete the registrant QA requirements for the purpose of promoting high practice standards and ensuring registrants provide ethical and competent care. The QAC ensures QA requirements are relevant and meet the requirements of the _Health Professions Act_, QA policy and the organization.
In addition, the QAC acts as the staff liaison for the QA Committee.
**Your Responsibilities**:
- In consultation with the Director, Quality Assurance, and internal and external organizations and individuals, the QAC develops, delivers, and evaluates registrant quality assurance policy and requirements;
works to ensure that registrant quality assurance processes are established, implemented, reviewed, revised, and maintained, and achieve compliance with established standards.
- Develops and delivers coaching initiatives to assist registrants in professional practice reflection and competence development to meet their quality assurance requirements.
- In consultation with the Director, Quality Assurance, responsible for developing policy related to registrant QA activities. Leads both project planning initiatives and program design and development from start up through to completion. Ensures project parameters of scope, schedule, budget, and quality are successfully delivered. Prepares appropriate reports, briefing notes, and presentations.
- Acts as the staff liaison for the QA Committee;
provides reports to theQA Committee on registrant progress on meeting QA Committee requirements.
- Assesses and supports QA team to establish, implement and evaluate processes for complex quality assurance cases for all registrants, and ensures that the direction taken for complex matters aligns with BCCNM QA policy.
- In collaboration with the Director, Quality Assurance, BCCNM staff, and individuals and organizations external to BCCNM, participates in, supports, or leads development or improvement initiatives and strategies. Ensures integration and alignment of registrant QA requirements across other BCCNM functions where appropriate.
- In collaboration with BCCNM staff, supports development and implementation of a measurement and evaluation framework for the QA Program to ensure desired outcomes are met.
- Enhances organizational understanding of registrant QA to ensure that the requirements are understood, integrated, and functioning well. Acts as a resource and consults with internal and external individuals and organizations on registrant QA.
- Prepares reports, briefs, presentations, and correspondence related to QA for Chief Officer, Regulatory Policy and Programs, Deputy Registrar Registration &
Quality Assurance, Director Quality Assurance, or Board approval as appropriate.
- Administers quality audits to ensure registrant compliance to established QA requirements.
- In consultation with the Director, Quality Assurance, liaises with other regulatory bodies and individuals and organizations external to BCCNM to ensure registrant QA program is current, evidence-informed and inter-professional as appropriate.
- Contributes to a learning environment through the development of an organizational climate that promotes and supports professional growth of all staff.
- Keeps current on QA trends through research and literature reviews;
synthesizes findings tosupport the development and updates to BCCNM QA policy to and ensure programs and services are evidence-informed, efficient, effective, and reflect leading practices and relational regulation. Supports leveraging of technology, tools, and resources to ensure effective automation of key QA processes.
- Maintains records and statistics and provides related reports as required. Assesses, monitors and is accountable for reporting on program compliance with ethical and legal requirements, and Provincial and Federal Legislation and regulations.

**Your Education &
Skills**:
- Registrant qualification with a master’s degree in a related discipline.
- Seven to ten years of progressively senior experience in complex health care environments.
- Proven project management skills and demonstrated experience in managing and evaluating outcomes for complex projects, initiatives and/or programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in policy and process development, implementation, and evaluation.
