**Overview**:
As part of our Quality Assurance team, the Quality Technician is primarily responsible for creating, maintaining, and continuously improving the AXYZ quality system based on TS16949 and ISO9001.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Assists with defining, developing, and implementing quality assurance practices and procedures, test plans, and other QA assessments.
- Interprets regulatory quality documents and customer specifics and to manufacturing and quality systems.
- Actively involved in the implementation of quality planning (Control Plans, APQP, FMEA, PPAP, Gauging, MSA, SPC, TS, etc.)
- Identifies gauging methods, obtains quotes, purchases gauging, and implements related systems.
- Initiates and participates in fast response, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective action for customer, supplier, and internal concerns. Verifies corrective actions are effective.
- Reviews the accuracy of process documentation and updates as required.
- Assists the Materials department with supplier relationships including direct communication, corrective action, performance evaluation, and audits.
- Ensures that all items follow the change management process and are entered and tracked through the change management software.
- Works directly with appropriate personnel on continuous improvement projects to include a focus on reducing COPQ and scrap.
- Submits continuous improvement Kaizen ideas and participates in 5S activities.
- Ensures the timely flow of high-quality products from raw material to finished goods and the proper handling of non-conforming material.
- Works with other departments to revise and improve company procedures and processes, conduct internal, functional, and configuration audits, and evaluate new suppliers.
- Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports, and determining proper corrective and preventive actions.
- Provides the leadership team with quality assurance reporting from auditing, shop and field-level data gathering, and warranty reports. Categorizes the issues, Pareto’s them, recommends actions to the management team and leads the implementation of improvements.
- Follow up on QIR, NCR reported issues daily.
- Assists with New Product development from the Quality standpoint. Assist in manufacturing Quality related issues.
- Audit the incoming parts from Suppliers and report the outcome.
- Ensures own understanding of change initiatives
- Addresses any negative results of the change in a realistic and constructive manner
- Other duties as assigned.
**Skills / Knowledge / Experience / Education Required**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline is required.
- Five to seven years of related experience (Auto industry Experience will be an asset).
- Experience with risk analysis, problem failure modes, and effects analysis (FMEA) for automotive products.
- Experience in writing and executing engineering test protocols. Write quality reports that describe manufacturing problems, corrective actions taken, and preventative measures needed. Use of problem-solving skills such as Five Why, Ishikawa diagram, etc. Proposals are usually written for non-technical audiences such as clients and management.
- Ability to make presentations to senior management during meetings to provide an overview of areas such as product costing, customer requirements, and product failures, which need to be considered when plan
