Rail Systems Project Manager/ Deputy Team Lead

Mott MacDonald is seeking a systems project manager to lead the Rail Systems, Systems Engineering and Systems Assurance deliveries on rail projects executed by Mott MacDonald in West Canada.
- To ensure Mott Macdonald’s delivery is aligned with regulations, standards and requirements of the project stakeholders and regulatory agencies. This role will report to the Rail Systems Practice Lead in Canada.
- Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Managing the Rail System’s project delivery teams on MM’s rail projects in West Canada
- Analyzing project dimension, scope and prepares or oversees the preparation of cost and manpower estimates, schedules and job budgets.
- Ensuring Rail Systems delivers to the stakeholder requirements and the further derived and elicited requirements of the developed solution
- Ensuring all submissions and other documentation is delivered on time and in accordance with project requirements
- Interaction with all project bids and execution teams on matters of Rail Systems including resolutions to issues arising during operation if appropriate
- Engaging with end clients as and when necessary
- Submitting progress and other reports to internal and external stakeholders

- Interaction with, and direct support to colleagues across Mott MacDonald

- Develop and work with key delivery partners and service providers for projects.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering/Science
- P.Eng and PMP designation
- Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in System design and
/ or project engineering with significant experience in rail and transit projects.
- Knowledge of railway systems and / or operation within infrastructure projects / technology development and implementation projects.
- Good communication skills and English fluency.
- Good interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi
- disciplined team.
- Able to hold competent technical discussions with Client representatives
- Able to interface with domain specialists, design managers and construction project managers, in a competent professional manner.
- Experience of delivery within major infrastructure projects
