Regional Mental Health and Addictions Services Consultant, Temporary Full-Time (Approximately 1 Year with possible extension)
Mental Health and Addictions, Queensway, Grand Falls-Windsor

Definition of work:
Reporting to the Regional Manager of Mental Health &
Addictions, this position will support the further development and expansion of the Opioid Dependency Treatment clinics, as well as project/program support for other mental health and addictions programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership in program enhancement, community collaboration, capacity building, relationship building with Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacy, etc. and program promotion. The successful candidate will be responsible to work collaboratively with other Regional Managers and Mental health and Addictions Services, to handle project implementation and efficient service delivery. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to safety, evidence-based practice and fostering person- and family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide leadership to support the interdisciplinary staff team and to encourage innovation and creativity in program delivery.
* Foster relationships with community partners, program stakeholders and potential service users.
* Leverage opportunities to encourage client feedback and/or participation in program and policy development.
* Motivate and empower staff to identify opportunities to improve the client experience in all Mental Health &
Addictions services/programs.
* Collect, collate, and analyze data to inform the evaluation of Mental Health &
Addictions services.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and other committee work in association Mental Health &
Addictions services/programs.
* Continue the implementation of the 54 recommendations of Towards Recovery:
The Mental Health &
Addictions Action Plan for Newfoundland and Labrador.

Required qualifications:
* Undergraduate degree in a health-related discipline, supplemented by preparation at the graduate level and with related experience and professional development.
* Current registration, if applicable, with the appropriate licensing body within Newfoundland and Labrador.
* Demonstrated recent and relevant work experience in the health care field.
* Proven experience in partnership development, program planning and evaluation, project management and leading quality/change initiatives.
* Ability to collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and function effectively in a high pressure, diverse and changing environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge of mental health and addictions treatments and delivery systems
* Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Dynamic leadership style which demonstrates emotional maturity, self-awareness and evidence of value-based leadership focused on engaging others, developing coalitions, and achieving results.
* Demonstrated knowledge and application of Lean Health Care;
Person and Family Centered Care;
and the leadership capabilities within the LEADS framework.
* Consistent demonstration of the core values of NL Health Services:
Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (I CARE)
* Valid Class IV driver's license and an ability to travel.
* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
* A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.

Preferred qualifications:
* Three years' experience in Mental Health and Addictions Services within the last five years.
* A graduate degree would be considered an asset.

Hours of work:
70 hours bi-weekly (Shift work may be required)
(Rotational on-call may be required)

In Accordance with the Hay Management Plan (and classification under review)
