School Age Care Educator With Class 4 Driver'S

The School Age Educator is responsible for the provision of quality care and education to children in any one of our school age programs. They will also be responsible for driving and picking up children from the nearby schools and will need to have their Class 4 Driver's License or ability and willingness to obtain.
We are an inclusive, multicultural, dynamic and collaborative child care setting which includes working with the other educators to plan and implement a progressive and an innovative program inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. Other responsibilities include developing strong relationships and communication with children, families and colleagues, and implementing high standards of care and supervision that promote the well being of children of all abilities.
**Qualifications Required**:
- Completion of a 20 hour course (or willingness to attend training), or a combination of courses in child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition
- Class 4 Driver's License or ability and willingness to obtain (will need to have a full Class 5 in order to obtain Class 4).
- Willingness to provide emergent programming based on the principles of the Reggio Emilia approach and the Early Learning Framework.
- Passion for constant learning in partnership with children, families and colleagues
- An eagerness to work as part of a collaborative, supportive and dynamic team in a non-profit and volunteer-based organization
- Ability to guide, nurture and care for school age children of all abilities in an inclusive setting
- Creativity, initiative, enthusiasm and a sense of humor
- Experience working with special needs children is an asset
- Passion for ongoing professional development and growth
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain

Mon-Fri 7:
30-9:
00am and 2:
30 to 6:
00 plus 1 hour meeting time/week, with an opportunity to work up to full days on Professional Days and Summer Break.
