We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Toronto, ON.The ideal candidate will have expertise in power distribution, fire alarm design, and lighting design for building projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems for various commercial, institutional, residential, and industrial buildings.What will you be doing?Contribute to all project phases and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, defined scope, timelines and budgetDesign and implement electrical systems for various building projects, including power distribution, fire alarm systems, and lighting design.Develop plans, specifications, and calculations for electrical systems.Ensure compliance with local and national codes and standards.Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines to ensure coordination of design efforts.Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and other design calculations.Specify equipment, materials, and components for electrical systems.Prepare construction documents and review shop drawings.Participate in the construction administration process, including site visits and coordination with contractors.What you bring?A degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ experience designing commercial, low/high rise buildings, and multi-family residential buildings.P.Eng. Designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) in good standing requiredStrong knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, applicable CSA, ULC, IEEE, IES, NFPA codes and standards.Strong communication skills required to provide effective inter-discipline, high value engineering, client, vendor, and sub-contract coordination on projectsFamiliarity with industry codes and standards and the use of client specifications for detailed designEffective leadership and business development skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, AGI32, and other design software.Fluent in English.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Who you are:
