Advantage Energy Ltd. (“Advantage”) is a proud Canadian energy company that recently celebrated its 20-year anniversary. Advantage is an intermediate producer with production of approximately 65,000 BOE/d from high-quality assets concentrated entirely in the Montney fairway, located west of Grande Prairie in Northwest Alberta. (“Entropy”), is a new clean-tech carbon capture and sequestration company with its first project underway at Advantage’s Glacier Gas Plant and recently announced a strategic investment from the Canada Growth Fund. Advantage is actively seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our team at our downtown office in Calgary, AB. This position will report to the Facilities Engineering Manager, and is a full-time, permanent role. The successful candidate will have the following experience and credentials:
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, justify, and execute projects related to process design of new facilities, debottlenecking, and optimizing performance of existing facilities.Review daily corporate production volumes and analyze optimization improvements in product recoveries.Identify and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to improve process performance, reliability, and safety.Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, and other safety reviews, and implement recommendations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery. Work collaboratively with field personnel, in-house engineers, and external engineering firms to identify and implement value-add projects.Participate in review of control narratives and shut down keys for new and existing facilities.Work collaboratively with others and assist with other facility projects as required.Adhere to and support Advantage’s corporate HSE policies and strategies.Travel to the field as required.Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Minimum 7+ years of process design, troubleshooting, and optimization experience.Bachelor’s degree in engineering.Be in good standing as a member of APEGA.Experience with sour oil and sour gas processing for small and large facilities (batteries, compressor stations, and gas plants) including process simulation for these facilities.Ability to work as part of a team with internal and external stakeholders.Familiarity with regulatory codes and requirements related to facility engineering for Alberta and BC.Job Type:
