Yurek Mobility is proud to support our clients with delivery, set-up, repair, and maintenance services for various home medical and mobility equipment options (including wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, and lifts) to keep our clients independent and on the move.
We are currently looking for an energetic and organized full-time **Service Technician** to join our team in St. Thomas, Ontario.
**Job Summary**:
Under the direction of the Mobility Service Manager, the Service Technician assists in the installations of lifts in client homes and completes repairs on equipment either at the clients home or the warehouse. The Service Technician may receive requests to complete appropriate work from external sales persons, inside sales, the Mobility Warehouse Technician, and occasionally other Yurek managers.
**Duties &
Responsibilities**:
- Repairs manual and power mobility devices.
- Installs and repairs lift and elevating products.
- Programs and sets up basic power equipment.
- Build mobility equipment as required.
- Ensures authorization has been completed before initiating repairs.
- Installs and repairs products in client’s home. Instructs clients in the proper use of installed products.
- Provides manual and power assessment and quotes on repairs to clients.
- Complies with all health and safety regulations.
- Responsible/accountable for shop tools provided, regular maintenance and cleanliness of Company vehicle.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Assists in warehouse duties.
- Provide contracted services for LTC homes.
- Follow any regulations and protocols as required by LTC homes.
- Deliver and pick up equipment from storage and other Yurek sites.
- Clean and sanitize vehicle to reduce cross contamination.
- Performs other duties as required.
**Education, Skills and Job Requirements**:
- Grade 12 Education or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the health care industry or related experience
- Must hold a valid Class G license
- Completion (or ability and willingness to complete) certified training courses by relevant manufacturers as required
- Ability to provide clean driving abstract annually
- Ability to provide a clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Proficient with use of hand and power tools
- Proficient in maintaining detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs and inspections
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment at an advanced level
- Knowledge of various mobility products and suppliers
- Organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Self-starter and able to communicate well with clients and staff
- Excellent math skills to prepare and produces invoices, quotes and receipts
- Availability to work and respond to After Hours/Emergency/On Call
