**Job Description**:
Your Team
The Site Assistant
Midhurst
) will work closely with and assist the Site Superintendent, Finish Superintendent and Site Admins with daily site operations, helping to ensure that we deliver the highest quality product. This includes supporting efficient site management, safety, and cleanliness, and help us complete every home on time and defect free. Will be responsible to help deliver on customer experience initiatives and maintaining positive relationships with trades and suppliers.
Your Key Deliverables- Frame-checks - walk home against working and mechanical drawings to verify accuracy of build, window locations and patterns, document any framing deficiencies, etc.- Assisting with Framewalks - complete frame-walks with homebuyers;
identifying pre-drywallupgrades and changes ordered, answering questions (for any questions unable to answer at frame-walk, obtain answers from Site Superintendents and follow up with purchaser before end of same day (enhance customer experience).- Assisting with Cabinet Walks - complete cabinet walk with homebuyers;
identifying upgrades and changes ordered, answering questions (for any questions unable to answer at frame-walk, obtain answers from Site Superintendents and follow up with purchaser before end of same day (enhance customer experience).- Count material delivered on site as required verifying quantities (e.G., lumber, steel, plywood for tile, etc.).- Assist in preparing extras for trades (e.G., plumber, carpenter, electrician, HVAC contractor, bricklayer, etc.).- Monitor safety toolbox talks, safety paperwork, set up monthly safety meetings;
safety paper work, filing and tracking;
monthly safety meetings, minutes, follow up;
monthly trade safety record keeping.- Ensure compliance with Brookfield Homes’ Health and Safety Policy at all times on the job site. Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times ensuring that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act are enforced.- Assist with coordination completion of the Pre-PDI, along with helping coordinate the completion of any noted deficiencies.- Assist with coordinating the completion of the Home Orientation (Pre Delivery Inspection) with homebuyers, ensuring they receive the required Tarion documents for closing, and follow-up touch point. Also helping coordinate the completion of any noted deficiencies is advance of closing.- Ensure the home is clean and presentable in advance home homeowner touch points (Framewalk, cabinet walk, Home Orientation)- Taking photos of each home at various milestones during construction- Deliver funds, permit applicants, etc., to Town office and pick up permits, etc., as required.- Assist with site administrative duties- Familiarize self with Tarion and Construction Performance Guidelines.
Must Haves- Minimum 1 years construction experience in all aspects of construction (e.G. labour, handyman/service non administrative);
completion of a post-secondary education related to Construction Management Engineering- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Working knowledge of computers;
- Knowledge in reading and understanding working drawings;
- Safety Training Certified (e.G. Basics of Supervision, First Aid, Fall Arrest, Natural Gas, Propane, WHMIS);
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code.
