Skilled Maintenance

**Job Summary**
***:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Skilled Maintenance person is responsible to maintain and repair the physical plant, equipment, furnishings and grounds of Cassellholme.
**DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance to ensure that machines, equipment and building systems (electrical, mechanical and plumbing) operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the facility does not deteriorate
- Carry out required repair and maintenance of rooms and other parts of the building structures including plaster, drywall and painting
- Complete systematic monthly inspections of the fire safety equipment and maintain inspection records
- Receive and distribute supplies, equipment, furnishing
- Perform ground maintenance as required
**Job Type / Category**
This position works within a 240 bed long-term care facility and includes an on-call rotation.
**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and / or abilities required.
- Graduate of an accredited apprenticeship/diploma program in a skilled trade
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a skilled maintenance occupation preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively and thoughtfully with residents, their families and co-workers
**LICENCES**:
- Certificates of Qualifications in any or more trade skills related to the noted areas of responsibility
- Ontario Class “G” driver’s license

$23.49-$25.79 per hour
