**Role**
**We have a new opportunity for a Specialist, Medical Information to join our Medical Operations team.**
In this role, the Specialist is responsible for the provision of medical information services. This position is based in Montreal (Saint-Laurent) and reports to the and reports to the Supervisor, Medical Information and Operations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Ensure the provision of high-quality and effective medical information (MI) for products across AbbVie Canada portfolio to internal and external clients.
- Provide up-to-date, accurate, factual, balanced, and timely scientific/medical information in response to unsolicited inquiries from healthcare professionals and patients.
- Develop or adapt global standard response documents in correspondence with Canadian medical and regulatory context and ensure their availability on the MI Web site, if warranted.
- Maintain adequate and updated pertinent scientific, product and clinical information on AbbVie products and related therapeutic areas.
- Report adverse events and product complaints that arise from Medical Information interactions within the required timelines.
- On occasion, may be asked to manage the MI Booth held at selected conferences in Canada.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and other departments.
**Education / Experience required**:
- Doctorate, MD, or Pharm D is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or Master of Science degree with relevant experience may also be considered.
- Being a Registered Pharmacist would be considered a great asset.
- Relevant experience with solid knowledge of the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
- Previous related experience and proven track record in similar role (minimum of two to three years)
- General knowledge on drug development and clinical research in a relevant therapeutic area an asset.
- Previous experience in customer-interfacing role in the healthcare industry an asset.
**Essential skills and abilities**:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must be at ease with technology (the use of various tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks).
- Availability to travel within Canada about 20% of the time. Valid passport is required.
