Monitors, communicates and collaborates on Dome and mechanical unit functions that support the air structure.
Members receive complete and accurate information to their inquiries to cultivate an inclusive and accepting environment.
Revenue generation through community rentals ensuring optimal use of the facility.
Clean, safe and well-maintained sports facilities on campus.

Nature and Scope
Reporting to the Manager, Athletic Operations - Facilities, the Sports Facility Coordinator is responsible for delivering information on recreation activities, varsity and community usage. They will administer rental contracts and will assist with Campus Recreation, Varsity programs and summer camps at Z building. They are responsible for the day-to-day tasks, which will ensure the cleanliness and safety of the facility. Additionally, they will control and monitor student and community usage of the facility. They will participate in the recruiting, training and scheduling of all part-time staff. The position requires that the Sports Facility Coordinator establish harmonious and productive relationships with the Students’ Association Board of directors, staff, college officials, student groups and the outside community.

Job Duties
Ensures all policies, rules and regulations are communicated, monitored and enforced regarding the use of the facility in a professional, courteous manner.
Monitors and controls the mechanical unit heat and pressure indicators that support the air structure.
Responsible for the administration of rental contract logistics, including, but not limited to, providing tours and information to prospective renters, implementing details outlined in rental agreements (# sessions booked, payment schedule) to ensure rentals are properly executed.
Schedules to ensure optimal use of facility and maximum participation from rentals and tracks monthly payments and deposits.
Initial contact for internal and external rentals.
Informs promotes and communicates services to its members and the outside community.
Assists the Recreation Coordinator with campus recreation programming, as well as special events and activities that run in Z building.
Daily, maintains the cleanliness of the entrance to the facility, field area, bleachers, hallways, common areas, public washrooms and locker rooms.
Performs the weekly maintenance program for the turf playing surface. (Grooming, minor repairs)
Familiar with the operation of maintenance equipment (Gator, groomer, power tools, hedge/grass trimmer, leaf blower, scrum machine etc.)
Ensures the grounds and turf area are well maintained and kept clean and notifies Manager, Athletic Operations – Facilities of any concerns/issues.
Monitors varsity-evening practices, Varsity games, rentals, recreation leagues, special events and activities.
Ensures equipment, the audio system and the scoreboard are in good working condition at all times.
Maintains an up to date organized inventory control of storage supplies and equipment for the facility and shed.
Coordinates annual set-up, takedown and storage of the air-supported structure, interior lighting and bleachers.
Monitors and communicates snow removal requirements and deficiencies. Ensures exits of the air structure have clear entrances and emergency access.
Inspects quality of contractor work and communicates insufficiencies. (Turf maintenance, night cleaners)
Initiates new community-based programs and activities for rentals purposes.
Collects student ID cards for the distribution and return of equipment.
Recruiting, training and scheduling of part-time staff.
Performs laundry duties to accommodate day to day requirements.
Assists with day to day administration duties.
Prepares, verifies and submits accurate part-time payroll as required.
Remains knowledgeable in the use of information technology.
Attends professional development to ensure continued personal growth.

Desired Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have a Diploma in Event Management, Recreation &
Leisure Facilities Management, Fitness &
Health Promotions, or arelated field.
Two years’ work-related experience in operation and maintenance of recreation or athletic facilities
CPR A and AED.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate organizational and scheduling skills.
Ability to train part-time employees.
Ability to learn quickly and under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
Excellent problem solving, analytical and decision making skills.
Superior ability to listen, consult and implement decisions.
Excellent computer skills;
Microsoft office, data entry.

Compensation:
This position is part of CUPE Local 5144 – pay Level 5 ($31.98-$35.54)
