**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the incumbent must provide assistance to the HR team in areas including, but not limited to recruitment and selection, training and development, maintenance of employee data and implementation of HR initiatives.
**Main Duties**
- Provide assistance to recruitment, hiring, and administration of 2020 Summer Student Program;
- Provide assistance to recruitment and hiring by creating and managing job postings and job advertisements, prescreening resumes, and conducting background checks as required;
- Provide support to special projects and implementation of HR initiatives;
- Assist with the preparation of ad hoc reports and meeting material;
- Responsible for general Human Resources administration;
- Perform filing and maintain filing system;
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
- Current enrollment in Human Resources Management degree/diploma/certificate program in a recognized University/College;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Analytical and highly detail-oriented individual with a focus on quality and accuracy;
- Strong interpersonal, as well as oral and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Demonstrated timemanagement skills and organizational abilities;
- Experience with file management a strong asset;
- Bilingual in English and Chinese is preferred.
**Other Requirements**
All summer student positions are funded to promote employment opportunities for students. The position and duration of it are based on funding approval. To be eligible for the program, job applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
- Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* _and;
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of the employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant or territorial legislation and regulations.
