Spring);
Mon - Fri, 7 hr per day (Summer)
**SALARY**:
$69,000.00 per annum

**Who we look for**:
The Supervisor, Education Program, under the direction of the Manager - Youth Development &
Education, will provideoversee all education related programs (including digital media programming) as well as facilitating the effective and efficient delivery of Weekends of Learning programs (Increase Your Success Tutoring, The Reading Program and instructional programs:
STEM, Coding and Steelpan) in addition to March Break and Summer camps for children and Youth Leadership Certificate programs.
**What you will do**:
- Research and assist the Manager, Youth Programs in developing curriculum for education programs and present findings/suggestions to Manager for input into implementation
- Report on program attendance of all Youth Education programs in addition to the sustainability of the programs at weekly YDE staff meetings
- Complete and submit program reports per academic term that speak to aspects of the Youth Education program that needs to be amended, withdrawn or enhanced
- Recruit, schedule and conduct Volunteer Orientation sessions (virtually and in-person) to maintain active database of readily available tutors.
- Oversee Volunteer-tutors and assist them plan, organize and implement the established curriculum for students and ensure parent involvement
- Supervise onsite and online tutors, and maintain accurate attendance records for both tutors and students, and ensure tutor lesson plans meet expectations.
- Supervise the coordination of the Weekends of Learning programs and camp programming
- Assist Manager, Youth Programs develop and maintain written program policies and procedures for new program facilitators and volunteers
- Discuss student-tutee’s progress with students and their parents and provide assessments and reports
- Participate in case management, consultation, and departmental planning activities
- Participate in the recruiting, orienting and training volunteers, placement students and camp staff
**What you will need**:
- Degree in education or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the related field
- OCT certification and experience teaching Ontario education curriculum is asset
- Knowledge of issues affecting academic achievement especially as they pertain to Black, African, Caribbean and other racialized children and youth in Toronto
- Valid police clearance - vulnerable sector screening
- Fluent in English - advanced speaking, reading and writing
- Excellent written, verbal communication;
facilitation and presentation skills
- Analytical skills to review data on students to adjust the curriculum to suit their learning abilities
- Demonstrated ability to motivate staff, volunteers and program participants
