Telecommunications Fibre Drop Technician

**Summary**
We are seeking, self-motivated, hardworking focused individuals to be part of our team for the position of **Telecommunication Technician New Area.**
This position entails working outdoors, operating independently and on a crew in the telecommunications industry.
**Responsibilities**
Working in a team environment with a crew or on own.
Jetting Fibre Service Drops to Residential Home in new build areas
Splicing Fibre Optic Cables
Site restoration work.
Drive to and from work site locations.
Operate equipment and vehicle in a safe manner, ensuring adherence to IMS’ safety program
Interact with customers/public in a professional and courteous manner.
Use of basic hand tools and gas-powered tools.
Work outdoors at the customer location
**Requirements - FULL TRAINING PROVIDED**
Previous experience in telecommunications an asset but not required.
Previous work experience in telecom/alarm installation and repair would be an asset.
Ability to manage a physically demanding position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, working at heights and in confined spaces
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
A positive attitude
Self-Motivated, ability to prioritize and organize work with little direction
Maintain a valid Ontario driver’s license and provide a driver’s abstract annually
Successful completion of a criminal background check
**Physical Demands**
Must be able to perform the physical demands of the position. These include but are not limited to working outdoors and in confined spaces, movement of equipment and/or materials, frequent climbing of ladders, frequent lifting and pulling of telecommunication cable and Conduit lift in excess of 70 lbs. Stand for extended periods of time.

$20.00 per hour
