**PURPOSE OF POSITION**:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Employee Wellness and Development, the incumbent will:
- Identify corporate training needs, recommend strategic training plans and coordinate or administer the
Implementation of approved plans;
- Provide backup tothe position of recruitment specialist as required.
**EDUCATION &
EXPERIENCE**:
- Community College diploma relative to Human Resources Management, Health and Safety or Business
Administration
- PLUS- up to 5 years current related work experience, preferably in a unionized environment
- Experience training or educating adults is considered an asset

Or equivalent to the above.
**KNOWLEDGE &
SKILLS REQUIRED**:
- Knowledge of administrative practices related to human resources, health and safety and training;
- Understanding of basic accounting and budget principles;
- Proven ability tointerpret policies and collective agreements;
- Proven customer service, interpersonal skills and training skills;
- Proven time management and organizational skills to identify priorities and to re-arrange work if required to meet
- identified deadlines;
- Demonstrated oral and written communications skills;
- Proven initiativeand ability to work independently with mínimal direction;
- Knowledge of office practices related to the preparation of correspondence and reports as well as electronic
- informational databases and records management;
- Basic understanding ofmunicipal government, its operations and services;
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
**COMPUTER EXPERTISE**:
Level 4 - The incumbent must possess a combination of intermediate and advanced computer skills scored at 65% or
Higher for Outlook and at least one of Word / Excel / PowerPoint to ensure their:
- Proven ability to use desktop or department / division specific software packages on their own or combine
Information from different software packages to get the desired result
- Solid understanding of the software to enable the incumbent to know the best tool to do the job efficiently.
- Knowledge to utilize software to develop quality reports, professional looking presentations, publications and/or to
Develop complex spreadsheets for analysis or presentation of data (including use of formulae)
**_Accountabilities / Tasks

- Coordinate the identification of Corporate level professional development and Health and Safety training needs,
Design and recommend annual corporate training plans, and arrange for the effective delivery of approved training;
- Coordinate corporate leadership orientation and development initiatives or programs;
- Provide advice and guidance to supervisors regarding training and development practices including the use of job
