Summary
Halifax's busiest and most dynamic waterfront attraction is seeking engaging and hardworking individuals to join our Food &
Beverage team on our fleet of excursion vessels. These vessels include the Silva (150 passenger), the Harbour Queen (200 passenger) and the Kawartha Spirit (200 passenger). Come join us and help showcase what our crew, vessels and city have to offer. This role reports to the F&

Approved Apparel
Employees wear company branded apparel exclusively. Black or khaki-colored pants, skort or shorts. Non-slip black shoes.
Hours
Full-time and part-time positions available. Irregular hours including weekends and holidays.
What you'll do
**Responsibilities**:
Create a memorable experience for guests through professional service, knowledge, and delivery of our products
Manage a full bar independently or with a teammate - Work as a team with all boat staff to create the best possible guest experience
Understand the day's sails/events/expectations/turn over times and prep the bar accordingly to be ready 30 minutes prior to the tour departure
Stock satellite bars in location specified with beverage items specific to event needs
Know the vessel layout, safety procedures and storage abilities
Re-stock supplies for the bar as needed throughout the shift
Carry heavy trays, bus pans, supplies up to and including 50lbs at times
Work up to eight to twelve-hour shift standing, bending, stooping, and twisting
Ensure the bar area is in clean condition, including but not limited to clearing bar, washing, polishing glassware, sweeping floors, and light dusting
Maintain bar cleanliness and presence throughout the tours
Remove dirty dishes from tables and workstations
Keep liquor fridges and storage areas clean and organized according to standard
Keep bottle lockup clean and organized according to standard
Take payments and handle all cash flow from customers
Maintain daily inventory of all alcoholic and non-alcoholic products on board
Complete a list of opening duties, end of shift duties, and weekly cleaning duties
End of shift cash outs and returning floats/tills
Show gratitude to Deckhands, Food Runners, and Culinary staff
With Customers
Check identification and verify age requirements for legal sale of alcohol
Follow the standard core procedures of service
Follow responsible beverage service
Develop a rapport with guests
Take beverage orders accurately and deliver in a timely manner
Know the city, be prepared to offer light travel advice
Be knowledgeable about our other company departments and tours
Be prepared to offer advice or recommendations on these to guests
With Supervisors
Participate and contribute to daily Food &
Beverage team briefings
Recommend and act upon improvements to operations
Notify on needed supplies/inventory
Check in with Supervisor relating to added duties and completion of duties for review
With RCR Catering
Liaise respectfully and positively with Culinary staff
Have a comprehensive working knowledge of the menu and plate standards
Follow RCR rules and guidelines when obtaining food items and entering the kitchen
What you'll need
**Qualifications**:
Customer service experience (minimum 1 year)
Bartending or serving experience (minimum 1 year)
Hospitality studies or experience in the industry considered an asset
Responsible Beverage service training considered an asset
First Aid considered an asset
Ability to communicate in other languages considered an asset
Skills and Abilities
Positive upbeat attitude and demeanor with other team members
Quick, efficient, organized and enjoy working under pressure
Able to identify and resolve issues as they arise
Good observation skills, attention to detail
