Duties/Responsibilities:
Collection of samples and perform all waste water treatment tests in accordance with company policy and environmental standards, regulations and ISO 14001 requirements
Analyze and interpret data from testing and make any necessary process adjustments to ensure compliance within environmental and operating limits
Understand use of and utilize all industrial chemicals related to waste treatment
Accurate and timely completion and maintenance of required documentation
General upkeep and maintenance of labs, buildings and grounds pertaining to waste treatment
Patrol plant to check pumps, motors, chlorination systems and other plant equipment
Monitor and read gauges, meters and other recording instruments to detect equipment malfunctions and ensure plant systems and equipment are operating within prescribed limits
**Requirements**:
Minimum Wastewater Treatment Operator Class 2 certification, but will consider Wastewater Treatment Operator Class 1 certification with the ability to obtain Class 2 within one year
Wastewater Collections certification would be an asset
Minimum Grade 12 education from a recognized learning institution (Include transcript)
Completion of Sacramento State University Operator training courses (Include transcripts)
Demonstrated ability to work independently while promoting a safe workplace environment
Physically capable of performing all job duties, including some heavy lifting and working with chemicals
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills
Supervisory experience would be an asset
Strong computer skills, including use of SCADA, MS Office Suite and CMMS
Other duties as required by Department Supervisor
