Purpose:
The role is responsible for advising and managing the Bank's government relationships and public policy priorities and strategy domestically and internationally. The role supervises the implementation of the Bank's government relations strategies, research and monitoring to achieve the Bank's public policy objectives. The position supports the Bank's key government relations, reputational and communications issues. The position can be required to act as spokesperson for the Bank with government and third:
Parties on government and policy related issues.
Major Accountabilities:
Lead the development of global government relations objectives by:
Prioritizing and allocating resources on a dynamic basis to address competing demands in light of the all:
Bank priorities:
Developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans and responses to political and policy developments in light of Bank and government priorities across the Bank's international operations:
Strategic influencing to accommodate conflicting business and government imperatives and competing internal interests:
Coordinating the Bank's government relations activities across its international network, working closely with country heads and liaising with staff that have government relations responsibilities
Contribute to the integrated communication strategy and approach related to Government Affairs including management of relationships by:
Managing the process of setting public policy priorities for the Bank:
Strategic influencing to accommodate conflicting business and government imperatives and competing internal interests:
Providing integrated communications strategies for the Bank related to its strategic priorities and the global policy environment:
Collaborating with a variety of internal audiences and country headsto develop various communications materials and leading the execution related to government and, in some cases, media and stakeholders
Provide strategic advice and counsel directly to Senior Executives as necessary:
Providing intelligence, proactively identifying appropriate opportunities to enhance strategic relationships and supporting executive team leadership development by coaching and briefing on tactics those related with elected officials, regulators, foreign governments, international organizations:
Providing intelligence, analysis and judgement on the global regulatory environment and specific policy issues of relevance to the Bank.:
Supporting the Vice President Government Affairs in providing political analysis and advice sensitive matters with high degrees of ambiguity and judgement
Lead the research and monitoring program to identify political risks, policy and communications opportunities at an all:
Bank level and across its international network by:
Proactively identifying emerging political, policy, consumerist and market developments across multiple jurisdictions and international forums:
Direct analysis into other bank processes for political risk analysis, M and A, regulatory impact assessment and business plans
Requirements and Qualifications:
7 + years of extensive experience and skills in communications, government relations, research and policy development:
Broad network of senior political and government relationships
Preferred:
Graduate Degree in Economics, International Relations, Finance or Political Science:
Experience in stakeholder management:
Communications/Public Relations designation or related work experience
Dimensions:
Exceptional ability to build and leverage strategic relationships:
