Solvest is looking to hire an energetic and enthusiastic individual as our new Energy Auditor. This position requires a certified energy auditor who is a self-starter to work collaboratively with our team conducting residential, and occasionally commercial energy audits. This is a full-time time position based in Whitehorse, Yukon.
This is a new position for Solvest, and as such, we are looking for someone who can evolve in this role and creating new systems to deliver high quality energy auditing services to our customers.
Education Requirements
Certified Energy Auditor
Post-Secondary education in business, renewable energy, trades, or engineering, are considered an asset.
Employment Status
Full Time - 40 hours per week. Typical work hours are 8am - 5pm with a 1-hour unpaid break.
Salary Range
$62k to $76k based on experience.
**Job Description**:
The chosen applicant will be expected and trained to perform the following tasks:
Primary Tasks
Conduct energy audits (both pre and post assessments) of homes and commercial properties.
Inspect and analyze building structures, heating systems, ventilation, air conditioning, water, and industrial processes to ensure energy use is optimal.
Writing energy audit reports summarizing findings and make informed recommendations such as insulation upgrades or solar PV to address deficiencies.
Develop an efficient and optimized audit process which allows for large client volumes while maintaining a superior product with tangible recommendations for the client.
Present audit report to clients, and explain the findings, recommendations, and the impact on the building’s energy efficiency.
Liaise with the Important Company’s - Energy Solutions Center to ensure the audits meet standards required and allow for customer rebates to be processed quickly.
Maintaining a central data base for all energy audit data.
Manage an optimized client schedule to allow for efficiencies such as clustering assessments.
Supervise an assistant who will support the energy audit process.
Assess process equipment and machinery for energy consumption.
Use testing equipment to identify energy conservation potential.
Educate users on energy-use habits and potentials for consumption and cost reduction.
Prepare cost estimates for potential retrofits.
Keep current on legislation and regulations.
Required Skills/Experience
Certified Energy Auditor - preferably with 2+ years’ experience (recent graduates will be considered).
Demonstrates excellent people and soft skills. Comfortable and confident communicating with new people. This position will be the first point of contact many customers have with the company and you will be expected to be friendly, communicative, and professional.
Ability to think creatively and come up with process improvements.
Attention to detail. Energy audit reports need to be accurate and precise.
Demonstrate an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic understanding of electricity is considered an asset.
Enthusiasm towards the environment, green energy, and the position.
Valid driving license with no major infractions in the last 5 years.
