Our client, a supplier for the construction industry, with their main office located in the St-Laurent Blvd area, as well as a new location in Montreal, is currently looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. The ideal candidate would eventually grow into a Human Resources Manager / HR Business Partner within 1 to 2 years.

Required skills and qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years experience in a similar position
Must be fluently bilingual (English and French) written and oral
Human Resources Diploma or Degree
Previous experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work independently/in a team
Keen attention to detail
Comfortable working in an industrial / blue collar environment
Must be seeking a long-term growth opportunity

Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Using an external translation service to translate job descriptions as well as create new, and update existing, company policies and procedures in both official languages
Assisting with employee recruitment campaigns (labour and construction related trades) – posting jobs, screening resumes, conducting phone and in-person interviews, conducting reference checks, creating offers of employment, etc.
Conducting new employee orientation / onboarding
Coordinating health and safety training for new and existing employees (WHMIS, Worker Health &
Safety Awareness, Forklift, Working at Heights, First Aid / CPR, etc.)
Being part of the company’s joint health and safety committee and attending committee meetings
Conducting employee performance reviews for a number of departments (approximately 45 employees)
Employee relations – inquiries, complaints, disputes, disciplinary action, performance reviews
Assisting with employee benefits administration
Documenting, investigating and reporting workplace injuries and dealing with WSIB
Other miscellaneous office duties such as filing, scanning, employee record keeping, etc.

Hours:
Monday to Friday – 7:
00am to 4:
30pm – Start and end time can be flexible

Salary:
$60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
