Electrical Engineer

*About the Job*
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering principles and a notable willingness to learn and develop new skills.
*Description of the Role*
* Responsible for control panel and switchgear/protection wiring design
* Responsible for component specification and selection for wiring and design, to adhere to project requirements
* Review of customer specifications and coordinating the information to other departments and/or instructing draft personnel
* Preparation and verification of technical reports and studies
* Participation in meetings, scope discussions and final review of submittal documents
* Review and completion of power system studies (using SKM/ETAP software), protection and control design and upgrades
* Programming of microprocessor protective relays and PLCs
* Professional sealing of documents for client submittals (if Professional Engineering designation is obtained)
*Requirements*
* 3-5 years’ experience in an Electrical Engineering role
* Currently possesses a Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited Canadian Institution and current registration with APEGA required
* Professional Engineering designation with APEGA or similar in Canada preferred
* Experience with SKM or ETAP Engineering Software Products and completion of power system studies (Coordination/Short Circuit/Arc Flash) using either or both software packages is desired
* Experience in an industrial capacity with a notable willingness to learn and develop new skills
* Reliable team player with a professional and positive approach
* Ability to problem-solve and work independently
* Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills
* Safety conscious with an interest in continued learning of safety precautions and procedures
